Back to Normal

I started this post last week, but I forgot to post it. Now you get two more posts for just one visit to my blog! It's Bonus Monday. What a deal!


I guess I should let everyone know what we've been doing lately since we moved.....lots of unpacking and arranging. We are pretty much done with that. However, the garage is a wreck. We haven't had time to hang shelves out in the garage yet. Also, we have several things to donate or sell on Craig's List, and they are all in the garage. And then there is Paul's office. We have a bookcase, nothing fancy, that we wanted to repaint before we put it up there. This would definitely be the best time to do that. At this point, though, I think we are both wanting to have everything in there put away. We may decide to just move it up there and skip the painting. We would love to have all of that room unpacked and organized.



Life is getting "back to normal". That has been J's standard lately. Everytime we are doing something ordinary, Jake says that things are finally back to normal. I guess he was ready for that. It becomes apparent to me that regular life is returning when I start cooking again. Last week, it was some easy standards....tacos, hot dogs/mac n cheese/spaghetti. Nothing exciting. Last night, I made a "roast" pork and apple recipe that is wonderful. I think the name sounds harder than it actually is. Kind of nice to be cooking real food again.



I will say that with the boys at school all day, it is certainly easier to accomplish things at home. The home cleaning routine began on Monday....not that it is really a routine. But it's another sign that things are returning to normal.....whatever that is!

Well, Kendra informed me this morning that my post didn't "post". So disappointing. I thought I had it. So, I think I've done it right this time. I thought I should post again that way Kendra will have 2 posts to read for 2 times visiting my blog. Can you believe I'm doing this? If you thought I talked a lot in person, just wait until I start typing. I do have to disclose that in high school, I was quite a typist....my teacher even wanted me to compete in UIL typing competitions! Isn't that hilarious? I didn't do it, but I thought it was strange. Anyway, I said all that to say, that with my history of fast talking AND fast typing, you may have more to read about me than you ever cared to! Since I've been lurking for so long, there are a lot of posts bottled up inside. This could be like opening up pandora's box!

I've Caved

Well, I have no idea what I'm doing, but with our move, I definitely feel like I need to stay in touch with everyone from home. I feel like I am still a part of everyone's lives, b/c of my constant lurking!!!! I know that Kendra, Monica, Holly, Anita, .......will know they have won the blogging peer pressure. So you're wondering what's going on here in the big M?



It has been two weeks since the boys started school. J had a field trip last week, and D will have one next week. I'm working hard to get to know the teachers, although I haven't had much facetime with them. I'm putting in extra effort to win them over, since I'm several weeks behind in the random gift giving and Sonic delivering! I will tell you that ever since I brought them cookies last week, D's teacher has been much nicer to me. Favorite Sonic drinks are next.



We met a neighbor finally last night. Really neat family who attends the church we have visited twice. They have boys basically the same age as ours and live in the house behind us. She scrapbooks and the boys were all quickly discussing Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I think it must be a perfect match. We are thankful to finally have met someone.



Well, that's it for now. I guess I will soon learn how to post pictures and all that. We went to a fun event here in town over the weekend, so I should be posting again soon with pics from that.
